Answers
- POH (Pilot Operating Handbook) — binding; values vary per aircraft type.
- 79 KIAS (C172).
- Odd thousand ft + 500 → 5500, 7500, 9500 ft etc.
- 500 ft AAL for VFR; 1000 ft AAL for IFR.
- Gas, Undercarriage, Mixture, Prop, Switches/Seatbelts — pre-landing check.
- 15 kt (max demonstrated crosswind C172).
- Mixture IDLE CUT-OFF immediately (cuts fuel).
- Fresh fuel reignites the fire — restart attempt is dangerous.
- Master switch OFF first — all circuits cut.
- 4-6 hours with normal breathing; 1 h with 100% O₂; 20 min hyperbaric.
- Fly straight ahead, max 30° turn for obstacles, NO turn back to field.
- 65 KIAS (Vbg C172).
- Size, Slope, Surface, Surroundings, Sun, Spectators.
- At least 50 NM lateral distance.
- RVR < 600 m typically (or before CAT II/III approach).
- Immediate go-around with throttle FULL, pitch to Vy or stick-shaker, configuration unchanged.
- 1500 m ground visibility (800 m for helicopter).
- 5 hours of night flight training (3 h dual + 1 h cross-country + 5 solo take-offs/landings).
- MTOM ≥ 136,000 kg (300,000 lb).
- About 2900 ft AGL (flock of Canada geese, both engines flameout).
- EU 965/2012 Air Operations.
- Carriage of dangerous goods.
- −43 °C (very low, hence easily flammable).
- > 50 NM distance from coast.
